Verlyn D. Ayodoc on 09/19/2011 at 9:25am (UTC)
“Do we get your attention now?”

“We are overwhelmed with the result. We barely expect to win so this is a major accomplishment for us juniors,” exclaim Jethro Val Z. Dominguez of Third Year A and Rachelle T. Balatao of Third Year B after being declared as winners. The two awed the audience with their excellent performances especially in the talent portion.

Jona S. Dampag, Ms. SAHS 2009 First Runner Up, escorted by Mr. SAHS 2009 Warden Taltala gracefully passed on and awarded the crown to the new Ms. SAHS 2010.

Improvement of facilities delights students
wwffredwayne on 09/19/2011 at 9:23am (UTC)
“Conduct of science experiments will now be more comfortable! We don’t need to go out from the laboratory room just to wash our hands or get some water,” students exclaim upon the completion of the lavatory in the science laboratory room. “The lavatory inside the school for washing and drinking is a nice improvement too!”
The lavatories are just two major improvement initiated by the school administration this school year. Repaired and replaced includes the school gutter and the roofing of the porch located at the dormitory. The six cubicles under the porch including one bathroom were likewise tiled. Said cubicles are used as girls CR.

“The lavatories in the laboratory and in the school, however, were not solely funded by the school,” cleared Mr. Rodolfo M. Pepe, Jr., school principal. “The lavatory in the laboratory under the Church is considered the project of the previous senior class (SY 2009-2010). Out of the 17, 872.00 total expenses, more or less 9,000.00 were the parent’s contribution. The construction started on July 6, 2010 and was finished on July 23, 2010.”

“On the other hand, the lavatory inside the school is partly funded by the student organization Explorers Guild,” said Mr. Pepe.

According to him, the girls’ CR was tiled for it to be easily cleaned and for it to be more comfortable. Also, the porch above it is being used by students to eat their packed lunch and to rest during noon breaks, so it needed to be repaired. Aside from that, it is where student dormitorians dry their clothes. Likewise, the repair of the school gutter solved the problem of strong water falling from the roof.

“I hope that the new facilities and the improvements will be used properly and be taken care of by the students. Hopefully, further physical improvement can be done more amidst our limited funds,” the principal said.

School population increases despite fewer freshmen enrollees
Roselle B. Cacap on 09/19/2011 at 9:21am (UTC)
Despite the lower enrollment of first year students which is 57 compared to last year’s 68 enrollees, the total population this school year increases. Compared to last school year’s population of 233, this year’s enrolment reached 244, an increase of 4.29%.

“The last batch to graduate are only fourty-four, which may explain why we still have an increase in population,” explains Mr. Rodolfo M. Pepe, Jr., school principal. “If there are more students who come in the school than those leaving, we can maintain a continuously increasing population.”

The rest of the school enrollments are the following: 66 second years, 74 third years and 47 fourth years. There were no new transferees for the third year and fourth year class.

Since the allotted ESC slots for the school is equal to the number of promoted second years who are grantees, all of the fifty-eight first year students are beneficiary of the ESC.
